Through the use of storytelling and song, we learned about the history behind certain songs. For example, the song, “It is Well With My Soul,” was written by Horatio Spafford. After suffering the loss of his daughters, he wrote this song about how he found Jesus despite all the sadness that he had experienced. Through storytelling, Deborah told the story of why Horatio wrote the words. Alex then led the group in singing the song. Hello my grandfather was sent there for short term rehab.i can honestly say that i have had a better experience 10yrs ago when my grandmother was there.The nursing staff is rude an they look at you like your from another planet!!! In February, two of our Cabrini Kids and their Mom sang spiritual songs and played instruments. Truly they gave from their hearts and everyone’s souls were touched.
Health Safety Deficiencies
If it was for bedpan duties, the aides NEVER made me feel humiliated, which was my biggest fear. That whole bedpan thing, in my opinion, is the most undignified & humiliating experience for anyone. And at 60 yrs of age you don't want anyone cleaning your privates. Yet the aides made the whole experience more tolerable.they were really great. I went from not being able to take 1 step to being discharged in 6 days!
I just arrived home, from a 12 day rehab, for my hip surgery. St. Cabrini nursing/rehab proved to be a excellent choice! The kitchen, janitorial, therapist , nurses assistant, nurses, P.A. Initially, I was quite apprehensive about receiving my rehab at a nursing home.
Services
The children and many in the audience played the tambourine which added even more joy to the program. The St Cabrini Nursing Home is in the top 10% of facilities in terms of resident vaccination rate. The nursing home has a resident vaccination rate of 98.9% which is greater than the state average. The staff vaccination rate is nan%, which is less than the state staff vaccination rate, however, the nursing home is still in the top 40% of facilities in terms of covid booster rate. The nursing home has a covid booster rate of 93.4% which is greater than the state average.
She was placed on the toilet seat and left there!!! When she was crying out in pain, I went outside of her room to try to find the lady that put her on the toilet. Finally found the lady that helped my mother-in-law, I told her that my mother-in-law was done and was in bad pain. She threw her hands up and said, don't you know I have other patients.
Quality Measures
Poor Grandmother who was there had 6 UTI's in 4 months. We had to BEG to get her urine tested each time. They don't allow a bottle of water in her room.

I thought I had already posted a review, but now I can't find it. During that time she was surrounded by so many wonderful people who took excellent care of her and always had a kind word for Mom. I am a nurse and very critical of health care facilities. Mom never developed a bedsore or other complications of immobility often seen in nursing homes. They always included her in the daily activities even when she was reluctant.
Not only that, they lied to me about the bandage ever being on!!! My mother now has a repeated, huge blood clot in this same leg and is hospitalized; it affected her heart and with the test they gave her, had a heart attack. In addition to this serious injury that is life-threatening, Cabrini has absolutely the worst food you could possibly want, especially if you're trying to recuperate.

I was visiting a relative day after Christmas. I was greeted by a very nice, helpful young man who helped me sign in and direct me to where I was going. All the staff members I encountered were friendly and kind.Hard to find a place where people are still pleasant to one another and strangers. I loved this place and if I ever have to do rehab again for any reason, I am definitely going to St. Cabrini. Additionally, the nursing home is in the top 20% of facilities for short stay residents who were rehospitalized after a nursing home admission, with a lower rate than the state average. My poor mother was almost killed here by the application of an inappropriate Ace bandage , and leaving it in place for days. It caused her leg to turn purple from lack of blood supply, and there were diffuse and multiple blood clots thoughout her left leg, where the tight bandage cut deeply into her skin and had to be cut off by the nurse mgr. In looking at their notes, they NEVER reported this injury.
We've seen her improve since her admission to the facility. When we were visiting with her over this past weekend, she told us that she considers herself to be very lucky to be at St. Cabrini's Nursing Home. Her aids and nurses really know her as a person, and truly seem to care.
